I just wrapped up some cover art for a good friends Connecticut based band. Lion’s Memorial Pool defines themselves as “an acid-country speed metal collaborative with dashes of Final Fantasy fight music”, and I think that about sums it up! You can listen to their cosmic folk undertone on soundcloud, and if you live in Connecticut or New York you can come out and see them May 20th at Plan B in Simsbury or on May 21st at the Brooklyn Infringement Festival. So come out and see them, buy their CD, buy them shots, give them your number!

Remember back in November I mentioned working with an amazing Illustrator, Jacqueline Pytyck, on a tattoo design? Remember me also mentioning that she would be sending the shirt we worked through together with to Threadless? Well, it got chosen! How amazing is that! You can view, and purchase, Freya’s Hair on Threadless now. I just wanted to give a thank you to Jacqueline for all the work she did with me personally, on my tattoo, and on the tshirt. It looks amazing and I can’t wait to see more of her work.
I am not one for baking too much. It’s not that I’m bad at it, because every time I do bake I get compliments. It’s just that it’s so strict and limiting. I’m far too spacey for leveling out my flour and sifting my confectioners sugar. But I do love to look at the amazing treats that people bake, and with Valentines Day around the corner this is the best time to look!
I believe that Valentines Day should not be celebrated in the way that most people do. Call me untraditional, but I think this should be a time to merely appreciate the person . Cook, bake, massage, just simply pamper the person you love. Don’t go out of the way to buy extravagant gifts, make them! Show the that you have put time and special thought in to what they like and who they are as a person and why you love them.
And because of this cake I will be updating over the next few days about what you can make, bake, or cook for that person you appreciate and love in your life. Who is that person to you? And what do you plan on doing for them this holiday?
Remember when I posted about KAWS? Well my friend from work found this Vimeo video and I couldn’t help but post it. It’s shot so beautifully and I can’t wait to go back and visit to see this sculpture. It is going to look amazing in the spring.
It’s back to Tumblr I go! I’ve had a Tumblr for about a year now. I started it to save all the images on line that I couldn’t save on my computer. Since starting my new job eight months ago, I just stopped using it. Why?! Tumblr is one of the best things out there to save all of those lovely photos and share them with others. Why would I give up such a lovely gift from the internet? Thank you for tumblr, sweet sweet Internet. I will slowly be moving all of my saved filed in my “Inspiration” folder over to my new tumblr. Prepared to be bombed with photos of pugs, sweet treats, color palattes, interior design, and pretty girls.
